Defects
Any component missing, broken, or not as specified.
Anterior-posterior dimension of chamber less than 10 inches (25.40 cm).
Developer and fixer jars do not have stainless steel closure lids.
Amber light filtering panel is not removable.
The chamber body and base are not easily separated.
Chamber finish not free of pits, burrs, sharp edges, scratches, stains, or other appearance defects.
Instructions for use not furnished.
Sampling for tests. Sampling for tests including dimensional test, shall be conducted in accordance with MIL-STD-105, with an AQL 2.5 (percent defective) and inspection level of S-3. The unit of product for test purposes shall be one x-ray film processing chamber.
Tests.
Light-Tightness Test.
The body of the processing chamber shall be attached to the base in the specified manner. Both hands of the operator shall be then inserted through the two hand holes of the chamber along with three unexposed intra-oral film packets. The chamber shall then be inspected for visible light leakage around the neoprene rubber hand entry frames.
After hand insertion into chamber, the film jackets shall then be removed from the unexposed intra-oral film developed completely to final rinse. The fully developed film shall then be checked for signs of light leakage during processing.
Any visible evidence of light leakage, or evidence of light leakage onto processed film, shall constitute a major defect.
