The viewer shall be suitable for wall, shelf, or desk mounting. The viewer shall have stainless steel legs for desk of shelf mounting. The legs shall be removable or recessed for wall mounting.
The viewer light source shall be a daylight fluorescent lamp, rated at approximately 14 watts, for use with nominal 115 volt, 60 Hz, AC power. The viewer shall include an “on-off” switch, a three conductor line cord with ground lead, approximately 6 feet in length and a three prong, hospital grade, grounded male connector conforming with ANSI Standard C73.11.
All electrical wiring shall conform to National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Publication No. 70, National Electric Code. The ballast, lamp, switch, electrical cord, and plug used in the viewer shall conform to the applicable requirements of Underwriter’s Laboratories, Inc. The illuminator shall show no signs of dielectric breakdown when tested for dielectric withstand as specified in UL 153.
The component parts of the viewer shall be securely fitted and properly assembled. The parts shall be free of cracks, tears, ruptures, or ripples. The viewer edges shall be free of burrs and sharpness.
The viewer shall be free of unplated or unpainted areas. The plating or enamel shall be free of blisters.
Workmanship. The dental radiographic film viewer shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit. Each (EA). One viewer, as specified, constitutes one unit.
Quality Assurance Provisions.
Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contact or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements.
