COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
VIEWER, DENTAL RADIOGRAPH FILM
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description as a replacement for Federal Specification GG-V-350 which is cancelled.
This Commercial Item Description covers a viewer suitable for viewing dental radiograph films.
Salient characteristics:
The dental radiographic film viewer shall be suitable for viewing dental radiographic films, with or without mounts, as well as general purpose x-ray and photoroentgenographic films up to and including 5-1/4 by 13-1/4 inches. The viewer shall have the following overall dimensions:
Length: 16 inches plus or minus 1 inch
Height: 6 inches plus or minus 1 inch
Depth: 3 inches plus or minus 1 inch
The viewer shall be of fabricated cold-rolled steel or corrosion resistant steel. All metal parts, with the exception of stainless steel and plated steel, shall be finished with a suitable enamel. The viewing area shall be a plastic diffusing panel not less than 5-1/4 by 13-1/4 inches, capable of accepting a full mouth series mount of at least 18 windows. The diffusing panel shall have a light transmission factor of 55 plus or minus 5 percent.
