MONITORING DEVICE, DENTAL X-RAY FILM
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description.
This Commercial Item Description covers a dental radiographic normalizing and monitoring device.
Salient characteristics:
The dental x-ray film monitoring device shall be a dental radiographic normalizing and monitoring device, with trouble shooting guide, suitable for use with “D” and “E” speed intra-oral films employed in conventional radiographic systems.
The device shall have a slot under a copper filter for film insertion and subsequent exposure using normal factors for a bitewing examination (60kVp and above).
The device shall have a second slot for the insertion of a film, which has been processed automatically or manually using new developer and fixer solution, so that it may be compared with a film strip of seven normalized density steps. The density steps film strips shall be included.
The monitoring device shall be supplied with complete instructions for use.
Workmanship. The dental x=ray film monitoring device shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit. Each (EA). One monitoring device, as specified, constitutes one unit.
