PADDLE, PNEUMATIC COMPRESSION
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description.
This commercial item description covers a pneumatic compression paddle suitable for use in radiographic studies.
Salient characteristics:
The pneumatic compression paddle shall be for use in radiographic studies of the gastrointestinal tract.
The paddle shall be constructed of a suitable Plexiglas material with an imbedded metal ring for quick fluoroscopic localization.
The paddle shall be equipped with an inflatable rubber bladder with an inflating bulb, and a thumb needle valve to secure bladder in inflated state.
The paddle shall have a non-skid bottom to prevent slipping out of position.
Bladder, inflating bulb, and needle valve shall be free of leakage.
The paddle shall be approximately 22 inches (56.0 cm) long, 7 inches (17.8 cm) wide, and 1/2 inch (1.3 cm) thick.
The paddle shall be free of burrs, cracks, flash, and sharp or ragged edges.
Each paddle shall be furnished with a list of replaceable component parts.
Workmanship. The pneumatic compression paddle shall be free from defects which may detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit. Each (EA). One pneumatic compression paddle, as specified, constitutes one unit.
