COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
TEST PATTERN, RADIOGRAPHIC IMAGE INTENSIFIER
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description.
This Commercial Item Description covers a test pattern unit suitable for use in obtaining optimum overall focus and gauging geometric distortion of radiographic image intensification systems.
Salient characteristics:
The radiographic image intensifier test pattern shall be compact, self-contained, and suitable for use in obtaining optimum overall focus and gauging geometric distortion of radiographic image intensification systems.
The test pattern shall project, onto the phosphor screen of image intensifier system, a pattern consisting of grid lines, calibrated divergent line groupings, and other appropriate designs required for calibration of the system. The total test pattern shall be not less than seven inches square. The test pattern unit shall parallel the density of the human body.
The test pattern unit shall have nominal exterior dimensions of ten inches square and two inches thick. Rubber feet shall be affixed on both sides to prevent chipping, cracking, or scratching. Net weight shall not exceed seventeen pounds.
Operating and maintenance instructions shall be included with each test pattern unit.
Workmanship. The radiographic image intensifier shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit. Each (EA). One radiographic image intensifier test pattern, as specified, constitutes one unit.
