CLEANER, AUTOMATIC FILM PROCESSOR
(Two Part Cleaner)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description.
This Commercial Item Description covers a dental x-ray processor chemical tank cleaner.
Salient Characteristics:
The cleaner shall be a two part chemical system suitable for cleaning the developer section and the fixer section of an automatic dental x-ray film processor. One part of the chemical cleaner shall be formulated specially for the tank, rollers, gears, and drive chains of the developer section. The other part of the chemical cleaner shall be formulated specially for the tank rollers, gears, and drive chains of the fixer section. The cleaning shall be done by running the processor in the cleaning solution without scrubbing of the processor parts.
The developer tank and fixer rack cleaner shall be a liquid concentrate consisting of a mixture of suitable acid and a sodium salt. It shall be furnished as a liquid in a one pint plastic container. The mixture shall be specifically formulated to remove silver and emulsion from the developer tank and transport system when added to the developer tank.
The fixer tank and fixer rack cleaner furnished shall be a solid sodium salt to be mixed with water in a one pint plastic container. The resulting solution shall be specifically formulated to remove salts and bromides from the fixer tank and transport system when added to the fixer
