COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
HANGER, X-RAY FILM
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description.
This Commercial Item Description covers a hanger for processing intra-oral type dental x-ray films in developing and drying procedures.
Salient characteristics:
Shall be a dental x-ray film hanger capable of accepting and holding securely a single, intra-oral type film.
Hanger shall attach securely to the processing tank during the processing cycle in a vertical position.
Metal parts of the hanger shall be corrosion-resisting steel, American Iron Steel Institute (AISI) 300 series.
Hanger shall have a suitable plastic identification tag which shall accept pen and pencil marks and which will not show any deterioration when subjected to the processing chemicals.
Overall length of the hanger shall be approximately 1-/34 inches or 2-1/4 inches, with an approximate width of 3/8 inch.
Hanger metal parts shall have a #4 commercial finish or better, shall be passivated or electropolished after fabrication, and shall be free from burrs or sharp edges.
Workmanship. The dental x-ray film hanger shall be free from defects which detract from their appearance or impair their serviceability.
Unit. Package (PG). One package containing twelve hangers, as specified, constitutes one unit.
Contractor certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description and conforms to the producers’ own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
