TAB, DENTAL BITEWING
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description.
This commercial item description covers a self-adhesive tab suitable for converting tables dental periapical film to use as bitewing film in military medical treatment facilities.
Salient characteristics:
Shall be a self-adhesive tab suitable for converting tabless dental periapical film to use as bitewing film.
Tab shall be provided with pressure sensitive adhesive on a strippable, protective backing, for quick attachment to the periapical film.
Tab shall have unfolded nominal dimensions of 7/8 inch (22.3 mm) by 2 inches (50.8 mm) long. Tab shall protrude approximately 5/8 inch (15.8 mm), when folded and attached to the periapical film, to allow patient to bite and hold in place.
Manufacturer’s instructions shall be furnished with each unit of issue. Not less than 20 months of the expiration dating period shall remain at time of delivery to the Government.
Workmanship. The tab shall be free from defects which detract from their appearance or impair their serviceability.
Unit. Package (PG). One package containing five hundred dental tabs, as specified, constitutes one unit.
Contractor certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description and conforms to the producers’ own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
Regulatory requirements.
Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act. If the product covered by this document has been determined by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to be under its jurisdiction, the offeror/contractor shall comply, and be responsible for compliance by its subcontractors/suppliers, with the requirements of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, as amended, and regulations promulgated thereunder.
